@BhikkhuBeckett yup, sorry about that. Storage issues again. I'm going to upgrade that over the weekend to accommodate Mastodon and it's data hoarding ways.

I'm actually going to to move forward with the upgrade to #Mastodon3 today. The process looks pretty straightforward and doesn't look too intrusive.
@voidspace yeah, this overall point is what I think I'm struggling with. I do my best to follow the path but my oldest (5yo) seems take that as an invitation to double down on his attachments so to speak. There is a part of me that thinks that I'm being silly to expect him to be able to pick up on this so young but I also want to help him with issues he struggles with (especially when they bleed over into school, etc).
I'm going to do a little research and see if I can upgrade sangha.social to #mastodon3. I'll definitely give everyone a good heads up before I proceed.

@Flophouse_Sam @willowlovestheology I think I got a lead on the issue and it has more to do with how Mastodon operates on the backend. Basically, old toots don't get slurped up when instances federate. See https://github.com/tootsuite/mastodon/issues/34. So it sounds like a known issue with Mastodon with no workarounds as of yet. Now, based on my new understanding of this, are you seeing all of Willow's new toots after you started following with your sangha account?
I've been super busy with work, family, and travel recently so I haven't been able to start actively promoting sangha.social. Before I do that, I want to make sure our server follows the Mastodon Server Covenant:
✅ Active moderation against racism, sexism, homophobia and transphobia
✅ Daily backups
❓ At least one other person with emergency access to the server infrastructure
✅ Commitment to give users at least 3 months of advance warning in case of shutting down
